2018 Audi A6 Spy Shots

2018 Audi A6

Before we started, please remember that this new car is not yet announced, so many information in this 2018 Audi A6 review are a combination between the actual information of the car, theories and expectations of what this new modern sedan could bring into the table. How do we are sure that the car in those pictures are the 2018 Audi A6 instead of a new version of Audi A4 or A8? Well, the body design are way too different to be said as an upgrade of the A4 or A8, it is mostly resembles the A6 with slight changes made to its exterior design.

The Audi A6 just recently got its complete makeover, making it to be the fifth generation, there is little chance that they will go with another complete makeover for the 2018, so we are pretty sure the heavily camouflaged mysterious Audi vehicle that we saw in Norway is the new Audi A6. Compared to the last A6, they have a lot of differences on the body design, and from the look of it, they are also going to be equipped with more features as well. as they are testing the car on a snowy road of Norway, we suspect that they will still using the traditional all wheel drive system, making it one of the off road capable sedan for next version market.

2018 Audi A6 New Exterior Looks

The current Audi A6 is not popular, the sales has been eclipsed by a lot of its competitor so Audi probably decided that they want to make the new version to be a huge step up compared the current one, and it looks like the first thing they do it to make changes to the 2018 Audi A6 exterior design. From the pictures that we posted, you will notice that this new camouflaged car is an Audi A6, but there are some parts that are very different here and there compared to the current available model of this same brand, it is now sleeker and more streamlined.

The Audi A6 exterior is known for its stylish and elegance, and they still consider those two things the most important aspect of the A6 brand, the new version also has that similarly elegant look, but with the added aggressiveness as well. As you see from the front grille, this grille is bigger in size compared to the current one. Due to the wider grille, the headlights are now very different, it is slimmer but a little bit more slanted and looking at it will give the impression like an angry beast. Aside from the new headlights, there are also changes in its whole dimension, in which this new version is 194.4 inches in length and 73.8 inches in width, while the wheelbase is 114.8 inches.

Unfortunately, we cannot get decent pictures of its rear side, so the changes made over at the back is still unknown. But they might use different type of rear lights similar to the changes made to its front headlights.

How about 2018 Audi A6 Cabin?

If the exterior are having a respectable amount of changes, then the 2018 Audi A6 interior design will be drastically different. If you check the current interior cabin of the Audi A6, you will see a lot of buttons to control the features available in the car, for the 2018 version, most those buttons will be gone. This car will have two different display screens with different functionalities, and you use these screens to control every feature available on the car.

Not only that; but the interior cabin of this new version will also be equipped with better quality material for the seats and dashboard. The missing buttons and better quality material means better comfortability, fortunately there are still more upgrades made for its cabin. This new car is using different platform to the last Audi A6 because it is said that the weight is about 50 pounds lighter and it gives more space available due to its bigger size. There will also be more modern safety features available, most probably because some of the current safety features are already considered as dated.

2018 Audi A6 Engine Speculation

We know from the fact that the car was being road tested in the snowy road of Norway means that this car will have great off road capabilities and that means using the all wheel drive system, but what about the 2018 Audi A6 engine? Unfortunately, there are no pictures showing any parts of its engine at all, so all we can do is speculating about what kind of machine they are going to use under that newly designed hood. There are many types of engines available to choose, and considering all the types of engines used by the current Audi products, one most probably candidate shows up.

The engine that is most likely going to be used on this new Audi A6 is going to be the 2.0L V6 turbo diesel engine. This engine is pretty good and is capable of generating 252 horsepower along with about 273 pound feet of torque. Some of you might realize after seeing the engine specification; that is right, this is the same engine you find on the current Audi A6, it seems like they do not have any intention to change the engine at the time being. It is not all bad news though because this engine is pretty efficient in terms of fuel consumption in which it is rated for 24 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

2018 Audi A6 Conclusion

No official announcement made for the 2018 Audi A6 release date and price yet, but as the car is currently being road tested, then it is not that far from production, so expect late 2017 release for this new car. Because there are only decent amount of changes and upgrades, the 2018 Audi A6 will be priced in similar price range as the current one, which is around $45,000 and more.
