Jaguar has almost a century of expertise and knowledge about making luxurious sports cars and saloon cars. With so many models on the market from this manufacturer, the Jaguar F-Pace stands out as their first SUV. It is available in five different trim levels and competes with SUV rivals from BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche. Designed by world-renowned car designer, Ian Callum, the F-Pace shares the latest technology found in the XF and XE executive saloons. All-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission are standard with the choice of supercharged V-6 or four-cylinder diesel powertrains. Not to mention, it has loads of room inside especially in the rear for two adults to sit comfortably. Worth noting is that it is offered with the Jaguar Land Rover Ingenium 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel and 2.0-liter petrol turbocharged engines present in the R-Sport, Prestige and Portfolio specifications.

With the F-Pace, it comes in both All Wheel Drive and Rear Wheel Drive variants and with several engine types including diesel and petrol engines. The diesel range comprises of 2.0 liter 4-cylinder Turbocharged engine that comes in 163PS, 180PS, and 240PS forms. It also boasts a 3.0-liter Turbocharged V6 engine that is smoother and quieter for a more relaxing driving experience especially when accelerating.

The 2.0-liter diesel can be ordered with a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, whereas the other options are all-wheel drive with eight automatic transmissions. However, with the 180PS, you can choose between six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearbox. The gearbox delivers rapid shifting for effortless overtaking and acceleration which contributes to F-Pace’s outstanding efficiency.

Jaguar F-Pace is also available with a range of petrol engines including the responsive 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 250PS Turbocharged petrol engine and more powerful 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 300PS Turbocharged petrol engine. In addition, it features a high-powered 3.0-liter Supercharged V6 380PS petrol engine which is a great option if you are not fussed about fuel economy.

The Jaguar F-Pace comes in a variety of engine options to choose from and powerful drivetrain. It, therefore, seems perfectly suited to all types of road. All its petrol engines boast power, responsiveness and great efficiency. The 3.0 liter V6 Supercharged petrol engine, on the other hand, delivers immediate access to high-levels of performance and torque regardless of engine speeds. The diesel engine provides torque-rich thrust as well as decent fuel economy.

Jaguar F-Pace is arguably one of the best-looking SUVs on the market. It is available in 12 vibrant exterior colors to choose from including British Racing Green, Narvik Black, Indus Silver, Caesium Blue and Loire Blue. Overall, its looks are quite dynamic from every angle with a very assertive front.

From the front, it looks intimidating with its large grille, sharp crease lines, big wheels, stiletto-like pointed taillights and swept-back headlights. Plenty of gloss black trim for the front end, roof rails, and doors give it a subtly sporty look. Its bonnet bulge and pronounced rear haunches, on the other hand, gives it powerful and distinctive looks for a head-turning road presence. It also boasts Jaguar’s signature ‘J’ Blade Adaptive LED headlights that produce so much light, slim rear windows, and big square mirrors.

The manufacturer is not selfish with the standard features here, giving the F-Pace 18-inch wheel, LED taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a power lift-gate. Its efficient ‘teardrop’ shape is complemented by a tapered roof-line. In addition, it features an extensive choice of aerodynamically alloy wheels that are not only lightweight but also highly efficient. Its highly advanced aerodynamics also ensures reduced fuel consumption, wind noise, CO2 emission while adding to driver confidence and high-speed stability.

The interior of the F-Pace is attractive, tactile, looks and feels classy and is very spacious. It has a clean and simple cabin that blends elegance and sportiness with several existing Jaguar design cues. Featuring quality and craftsmanship, the F-Pace’s interior boasts sophisticated finishes and handpicked premium materials along with beautifully crafted thick-rim steering wheel. All the seats are made from luxurious Siena Tan Perforated Windsor leather material for improved comfort.

Besides, it comes with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system known as InControl Touch. The system is easy to navigate, reasonably responsive with clear graphics. However, it is not easy to operate when on the move. At the back, there is a lot of leg and knee room as well as headroom for different sized adults. The rear seats also include electric recline function for a perfect seat position setup. Also, there is loads of room at the front with plenty of adjustment options for the seats and steering wheel.

Apart from its ability to carry up to five adults, it also boasts 650 liters of boot space with rear seats in place. But when the seats are folded, the boot space expands to 1,740 liters which is more than enough for an SUV. Last but not least, it spots interior mood lighting feature to help you create a welcoming, rich visual effect and relaxing atmosphere for all passengers on board.

Like most other Jaguar models, the F-Pace is made of 80% lightweight aluminum material. However, other parts like the cross-car beam are magnesium. So the car does not feel overwhelmed despite the fact that it is longer and wider than its rivals. With a wheelbase of 113.1 inches and 213 mm ground clearance when fully laden, the F-Pace offers decent stability in different terrains.

Additionally, it includes alloy wheels ranging from 18 inches size to 22 inches sizes. The 18-inch wheels come standard with the basic F-Pace model but higher-end trims have larger wheels for enhanced stability when driving at high speeds.

Jaguar F-Pace Safety Technology Features

Jaguar has a solid reputation for safety hence the F-Pace should be a dependable SUV to own. In addition to its tough body structure, it boasts various safety technology features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Trailer Stability Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, blind spot monitoring and speed limiter.

*Lane Departure Warning

The technology alerts you when your car is about to veer out of the lane so you can steer it back to the middle of the lane. It alerts the driver via a gentle vibration and visual alert to help keep everyone on board safe. However, it does not work if the road has no clear lane markings or the lane lines are faded.

*Park Assist

This feature makes it easy to park your F-Pace in tight spaces. With this feature, the car is able to accurately steer itself during bay and parallel parking maneuvers. All the driver has to do is simply control the accelerator and brakes.

*Autonomous Emergency Braking

This innovative safety system is built to help avoid low-speed collisions and reduce the severity of an impact. When it detects a potential collision, it gives an audible forward collision warning which is later followed by visual warnings. But in case the driver fails to take action, the system immediately applies the brakes to reduce the severity of a possible impact.

*Driver Conditioning Monitor (DCM)

DCM detects any lapses in concentration caused by tiredness. It does this by monitoring driver inputs and then alerts the driver via an audible alert and visual notification so he can take a break.

*Traffic Sign Recognition

Traffic Sign Recognition detects speed limits, such as variable limits and no overtaking signs through the forward facing camera. It then notifies the driver. The system also has built-in intelligent speed limiter to help keep the F-Pace within the appropriate speed limit.

*Trailer Stability Assist

With the F-Pace, you can enjoy improved stability when towing. The Trailer Stability Assist usually detects any dangerous trailer sway scenario and helps the driver regain control. This is by reducing the SUV’s speed through decreasing engine power and applying the brakes separately on each side.

*Blind Spot Monitor and Reverse Traffic Detection

Blind Spot Monitor alerts the driver if there are any vehicles or obstacles beside the Jaguar F-Pace. This also includes vehicles approaching from a distance behind. Reverse Traffic Detection, on the other hand, extends the Blind Spot system function by alerting the driver via Touchscreen of moving cars when reversing.

*Adaptive Cruise Control

Using radar technology, Adaptive Cruise Control automatically adjusts your F-Pace’s speed to help you maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. In case the car ahead slows, the control will reduce the speed of the F-Pace and resume its pre-set speed once the road in front is clear. But if the car ahead halts completely, the control uses the Queue Assist function to bring your car to a smooth stop.

Final Verdict

Overall, the Jaguar F-Pace is one of the most stylish SUVs on the market. Despite its sporty looks and handling, the F-Pace is a luxurious, practical and desirable SUV. With its spacious and comfortable seating area for five, great stability and lots of safety technology features, the F-Pace makeS for a great SUV.
